RSL Project Solutions visits Farnborough International Airshow 2026
RSL Project Solutions Ltd recently attended the Farnborough Air Show 2026, with Managing Director Rab Lee and Intern Charlotte Lee representing the company at one of the aerospace and defence industry’s premier events.
The day provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues, strengthen existing relationships, and engage with new contacts from across the aerospace, defence, and engineering sectors.
As a business that supports clients with project management, programme delivery, engineering, and business support solutions, the event offered valuable insight into current industry developments, emerging technologies, and future opportunities throughout the sector.
Seeing Innovation Become Reality
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to see several aircraft and capabilities that we have previously supported during their development and delivery phases.
For those involved in project and programme delivery, there is always a sense of pride in watching a concept progress from requirements and development through to testing, certification, and ultimately operational service. Seeing aircraft and systems that we had contributed to during earlier stages of their lifecycle now actively serving customers and end users was a particularly rewarding experience for our team.
It served as a reminder of the important role that effective project delivery, engineering leadership, and programme management play in bringing complex projects to life.
Building Connections for the Future
Throughout the day, Rab and Charlotte met with industry professionals from a wide range of organisations, discussing current challenges, future programmes, resourcing requirements, and opportunities for collaboration.
These conversations reinforced the continued demand for experienced project management and engineering support, particularly within industries facing increasingly complex delivery requirements.

An Unexpected Farnborough Moment
Of course, no visit to Farnborough would be complete without a few memorable sights along the way.
Among the impressive displays of cutting-edge aerospace technology, advanced defence systems, and next-generation aircraft, one image captured the uniquely British character of the event: a traditional Mr Whippy ice cream van parked beside an F-35 Lightning.
Few scenes better illustrate the contrast that makes events like Farnborough so special. On one side stood one of the world’s most advanced combat aircraft, representing decades of technological innovation and engineering excellence. On the other was a familiar ice cream van serving visitors on a warm summer’s day.
It’s safe to say that both attracted plenty of attention.
